Bikepark Wagrain

Besides adventourous mountain bike tours the mountain bike park Wagrain also comes with a special kick: Beginners and Professionals alike will find suitable downhill and free ride distances. The exciting mix of trails, jumps and tables also caters to adrenaline junkies. The bike park is currently spread across 300 metres in elevation and more trails are in planning.



Hiking in Wagrain

Hiking up to the Hochgrundeck (1872 metres above sea level), one of the most scenic mountains of Austria, or taking a trail up the Griessenkar (1640 metres above sea level) by use of the funicular railway Flying Mozart are just a few of the possibilities.




The “Hunter’s Lake” is an idyllically situated natural lake in the back valley of Kleinarl. This location can be used as a starting point for the trail around the lake (approximately 35 minutes in length) or to hike up to the Lake Tappenkar. The mythical Lake Tappenkar is one of the most elevated and biggest mountain lakes in the Alps.



Paragliding and Tandem Flights

Wagrain-Kleinarl is known for its excellent disposition for paragliding. The Ski Guide Parataxi enables you to experience paragliding and tandem flights during your Winter Holidays in Salzburg.


K. H. Waggerl House

Karl Heinrich Waggerl is one of the most famous Austrian writers. Exhibitions about his life and work can be viewed in his house. Guests are welcome throughout the year with prior registration.

The 800 metre long Canyon has been beautifully formed by moving water over centuries. It also offers a scenic tranquil rest area to relax and linger. Open from May through October.


Eisriesenwelt Werfen

The cable railway will transport you directly to the entrance of the biggest natural ice cave in the world. It offers a magical experience of unique ice figures which light aglow in different shades at a temperature of 0° C. Open from the beginning of May through the end of October.


Castle Hohenwerfen

This is a place to travel back in time. The well preserved castle, situated in a unique panorama, offers a variety of attractions: A tour through the castle and its weapon exhibition, the Salzburger Falconry Show including an educational tour about the many birds of prey. A visit to the castle can easily be combined with a visit to the ice cave “Eisriesenwelt”. Open from April through November.


Salt Mines Hallein

Take the mining railway into the depth of the mountain where you will cross the salt lake with a raft and after sliding down the old wooden slideways you will reach the exhibition sites.
A visit to the celtic village will enable you to take a look back in time of the first settlers on the “Duernberg”. This is an ideal bad weather programme.
